Adoption is a legal way of providing a new family for children who cannot be brought up by their birth parents. Parental rights and responsibilities transfer completely to the adoptive parent upon the making of an adoption order. In most instances, children come to adoption because their birth families have been unable to provide safe, secure homes for them and the courts have decided that adoption would be in their best interest. We need to place children of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds and so we’re always looking for an equally wide variety of adoptive parents.
Regional adoption agencies are a new and innovative development in the delivery of adoption services and here in Bolton, we’re hosting a collaborative arrangement between six local authorities - Bolton, Blackburn, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside - with the aim of improving the process of placing children into adopted placements across the region.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a completely new team where you can influence the set up and development of our Regional Adoption Agency – we have a range of administrative roles currently available including Lead Administrator
‘Together we make a difference’ and we do believe that the opportunities are great to make a real difference to children’s futures.
