North West Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (NW ADASS) brings together the region’s 23 Directors of Adult Social Services.
The primary focus of NW ADASS is to improve the lives of people with care and support needs through collaborative improvement programmes. The work we undertake is broad and includes supporting councils with their safeguarding procedures; developing regional approaches to managing shortages in the workforce; and, improving support to carers. We manage a large and ambitious programme of activity and work with a broad group of partners, stakeholders and suppliers to achieve our objectives. We support local authority collaboration through various regional networks including Market Shapers, Carers, Principal Social Workers, Finance Leads and Performance Leads.

The NW ADASS Programme Director is a key, influential regional role and central to the development of North West adult social care strategy and policy. In the role you will be working at very senior levels across social care and local government and working to develop positive relationships with organisations such as The Department of Health and Social Care, The Local Government Association, national ADASS and NHSE/I. Delivering on our Care 2030 aspirations and our sector-led improvement priorities is the primary focus. The role requires someone with creative flare and energy to drive our vision forward but also take us to the next level.
