We understand how important continuous leadership development is, as soon as you join us you will work with your manager who will support you to create a development plan which will enable you to succeed. This will include our core #LeadingSalford development programme and many more opportunities to support your personal and professional development.
In Salford we want all individuals and teams to benefit from excellent leadership. This is where our leadership behaviours (PDF, 2mb) and our #Leading Salford development programme comes into play. The framework sets out what great leadership looks like in Salford and the learning you can access to develop the skills and behaviours to successfully lead our people.
To help you succeed you will also be offered the opportunity to gain a relevant leadership qualification (at either level 3, 5, 6 or 7) depending on your development needs. This qualification will be delivered through an apprenticeship scheme. Apprenticeships have changed a great deal over recent years they’re now for people of any age and at any stage of their career who want to further develop their skills and knowledge. These qualifications go all the way up to postgraduate apprenticeships!

You will have the opportunity to apply for our #LeadingSalford Springboard programme that’s designed specifically for existing managers with high potential to further develop their strategic leadership capabilities.
In partnership with Apprenticeships at Salford City College and University of Salford, participants will access a unique mix of engaging content, intensive support and leadership skills development for the next step in their careers.
Participants will benefit from a tailored individual development plan, resulting in receiving either a departmental manager qualification, or a senior leader master’s degree/MBA or MSc.
