Our fostering service here in Blackpool is undergoing transformation, we are investing heavily in the service in order to create an expanded team which can deliver increased foster care provision for our children whilst at the same time ensuring the service is outstanding. We are investing in key roles to realise that vision, including a fostering business manager, and a fostering psychologist, to complement our already very successful lac psychology service,

Part of this investment is in our team manager and social worker staffing numbers

Connected Carers Social Worker

Do you have the drive, passion and commitment to undertake Family and Friends Connected Carers assessments. You will work alongside children's social workers in the assessment of connected carers and Special Guardians

Candidate requirements

  • Good understanding of the impact of trauma and loss upon children
  • Good communication skills and the ability to write accurate, analytical assessments and reports within set timescales are key
  • A strong understanding of the specific needs of looked after children and how these can be met within a family placement
  • Successful applicants will plan and carry out assessments, in addition to working with social workers who support children in care
  • Ensuring carers are provided with and access adequate support, information and advice, to provide consistent, high quality care for a child or young person placed in their home
  • Commitment to work flexibly and travel within the UK/Overseas
