Teaching Assistant Level 2 SAN
Salary: Grade 4 points 17 – 21 £16,998 - £19,317 per annum pro rata
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, 21 Hours.
Location: Sensory Support Service, Lancasterian, Elizabeth Slinger Road, West Didsbury, Manchester M20 2XA

In this fulfilling role you would work with children and young people, primarily in a hearing needs resource base within a mainstream school. As part of your role you will:
• assist the delivery of learning programmes and the implementation of PLPs under the supervision of the teacher of the deaf.
• support children and young people to use a variety of equipment effectively in order to optimise their access to information, learning and society.
• support schools and nursery settings in developing curriculum and classroom strategies.
• promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
Ideally you will already have experience of working with children and young people with sensory needs. A qualification in BSL of level 2 or above is required for this role.The Sensory Support Service comprises an experienced and committed team of specialists providing quality advice and support for children and young people from birth to 19 years of age with sensory needs in a range of settings across the city.The Governing Body and staff community of the Lancasterian Organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
