Rehabilitation Officer – Visual Impairment

Salary: Grade 7, £23,866 - £28,221 per annum.

 

The salary is subject to the 2019 National Joint Council pay award and any local agreements

 

37 hours per week

 

Your role:

 

You will undertake an assessment of service user’s needs, identifying if there is potential for improvement either by a Sensory Rehabilitation Programme or the use of equipment, adaptations and assistive technology devices. You will respond to the long term needs of service users who require equipment and adaptations to their home environment, using your knowledge of visual impairment and the impact of the person’s environment to develop solutions to meet their needs and maintain independence and safety.

 

The role is an essential part of the Integration of Community Services as health and social care develop an integrated locality service delivery model.

About us:

 

The Early Intervention Service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Occupational Therapists, Primary Assessors, Sensory Rehabilitation staff and Reablement staff. We provide a range of suitable equipment, adaptations and assistive technology devices enabling people to remain in their own homes. We are a committed team wholly focused on improving the lives of our service users.

 

You will be based with the Ashton Locality Early Intervention Service. We work closely with our colleagues across the health and social care economy, including public health, community and acute health care services and housing, all providing an integrated approach to promoting and maintaining the health, wellbeing and independence of the people we support. 

 

The service operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year
