Grade 5 - £14,555 - £16,392 per annum. £10.33 - £11.64 per hour


33 hours per week, term time working 38 weeks per year

Willow Grove Primary School is a co-educational school catering for 60 pupils within Key Stages 1 and 2. Pupils have a range of social, emotional and mental health difficulties and may also have associated learning difficulties. The school has a borough wide catchment area, stretching from Atherton, Golborne, Ashton and Bryn to Standish, Shevington and Whelley.


The school is situated in Ashton in Makerfield in a pleasant residential area, set amongst large playing fields and spacious hard play areas.


The Headteacher and Governors wish to appoint two highly motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our highly successful team. The successful candidates will take up position as soon as possible.


The successful candidate will be class based. They will also support individual pupils and outreach activities. The person must be prepared to take part in training for Positive Handling and Sounds Write.


The successful candidate will need to:


  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is passionate about learning and able to demonstrate a commitment to the aims, purpose and ethos of our diverse school
  • Be an effective communicator with all members of the school community
  • Have experience of working with primary aged children who exhibit extremely challenging behaviour
  • Be flexible in their approach, open to new ideas and a team player who is keen to contribute to our curriculum team
  • Be an incredibly emotionally resilient person
  • Have knowledge and experience of attachment support strategies
  • Have knowledge of developmental trauma related behaviours
