Salary: Grade 12, £ 46,662 - £50,292 per annum.

37 hours per week

We are looking to appoint a permanent manager to our Recruited Fostering Team. This role will be integral to achieving our sufficiency ambitions and plans to improve and expand our fostering service.

As an experienced manager you will have extensive knowledge of fostering legislation and government guidance, including a track record of using creative approaches to support and sustain our foster carers.

Your role:

Working closely with other fostering team managers, advanced practitioners, supervising social workers and our approved foster carers, you will be an ambassador for our ‘Deal for Foster Carers’, placing a relentless focus on improving placement stability and permanence, supporting our foster carers to provide high quality foster care placements for some of our most vulnerable children and young people.

You will work with our Mockingbird Project Manager to further develop our Mockingbird Family Model in Wigan.

You will lead on developing a stronger Staying Put and Supported Lodgings offer to ensure our young people have support and continuity as they move towards independence.

About you:

You will be an innovative, confident, and energetic leader, committed to achieving positive change for children and families. You will lead on the delivery and development of high-quality practice. You will manage robust performance management systems to ensure that your team is highly effective.

You will be responsible for ensuring that Signs of Safety is an embedded as a practice model within the team.

As a qualified and experienced social work manager you will have a proven track record of success, you’ll be ready to take on the crucial task of inspiring and influencing your team and partners to achieve positive change and safety and permanence for children.

You will have excellent knowledge of statutory frameworks and processes as well as relevant legislation to ensure that your team is highly effective. You will be an excellent communicator, be able to develop and implement team plans, an effective decision maker with a passion to improve the lives for children in our borough.
