Manchester City Council and Bolton Council are ambitious, proud, forward-thinking Councils. We do things differently and have a strong track record of innovation, excellence and working in partnership with the public and private sectors.

To achieve our aims we need high quality audit and risk management services so our Councils collaborate with around 50 staff working across:

  • internal audit, assurance and counter fraud
  • insurance and claims
  • risk management and business continuity
  • health and safety

How We Work

You will be employed by Manchester but work to a shared business plan that reflects the priorities, ways of working and values of our two Councils that mean we:

  • are proud and passionate about the places we serve.
  • take time to listen and understand others.
  • own it, take responsibility for our actions, are determined and try new things.
  • work together and share, support and collaborate for better outcomes.
  • are truthful, open and value our differences and treat people fairly.

We work flexibly from our two offices in the beautiful Town Halls of Manchester and Bolton, from other sites and from home. We come together in the workplace at least a couple days each week to collaborate, catch up and engage with each other in person and utilise technology for effective remote, mobile and home working.

We value difference and inclusion and the value that diversity brings to how we work. We are supported to grow and succeed through organisational performance, development and training frameworks. We have strong HR support and access to excellent training and development opportunities in both Councils to help develop personal and professional skills for current and potential future roles.
