  • Do you want to make a difference and add real value in your community?
  • Do you want a role that is challenging, varied and rewarding?
  • Do you want to work for a people centred values based organisation with true commitment to work / life balance?

If the answer is ‘Yes’ then we are recruiting!

We're looking to recruit several roles within our Team (listed below), covering Estates Management, Strategic Asset Management and support services, but first read below why Salford City Council is a great place to work:

About us

Salford is a high performing council with change at the heart of its approach. We have ambitious plans to transform Salford into a modern global city where we can all make a real difference to the lives of Salford people. As a people centred and values-based organisation, Salford really is a great place to work. With a positive permission culture and can-do approach, we embrace innovation and encourage performance.

You will be part of the council’s Strategic Asset Management Team which has recently been through a service redesign to make the service fit for purpose and ready to take on the exciting and ambitious challenges the council are committing to delivering. As part of the redesign these new positions have been created to enhance the existing team in order to provide a full range of professional services in relation to property and strategic asset management.

The managed estate draws in an impressive £25m per annum rent roll with an asset value in excess of £600m. We hold over 1,000 non-operational and investment assets, 100 educational assets, 300 community assets and 170 operational assets. As you can see with the variety of the portfolio no day will be the same!

Salford City Council have ambitious regeneration plans with key partners and the Strategic Asset Management Team has a key role to play in terms of stakeholder and property management.

The council are also at a crucial stage in terms of developing their Strategic Asset Management Plan ensuring that we leverage our assets, provide robust integrated public services, working closely with Greater Manchester Combined Authority and a wide range of other public sector services to best support change within the city and the needs of its residents.

Structure of the team

The team will be built up of four primary functions namely Property Management, Asset Management, Property Information and Support Services. It is important that you are a team player and have the ability and initiative to work alone. We are looking for people with enthusiasm and drive to meet targets and be part of council-wide initiatives that makes Salford such an exciting and interesting place to work.  We also need a team that wants to continually improve and develop, to be the best they can.

We are looking for a range of talent given the breadth of roles we have on offer as we build the new team! If you’re hardworking, passionate, love making a difference, enjoy giving back to the community and want to be part of a team where you can learn, grow and develop then we want to hear from you!
