Senior Support Specialist

Contract Type: Temporary until May 2024

Contract Hours: 37 per week

Salary: NJC Grade F SCP 19-24 £27,825 - £31,099 per annum

Applications are invited from highly motivated, computer literate, and enthusiastic persons for the above vacancy (Temporary for 2 years) within the Benefits Service

The successful candidate must be able to contribute to the implementation and improvement of data management systems, undertake day to day management, maintenance and monitoring of data management systems, and be able to contribute to the development, documentation and maintenance of technical infrastructure. They must also be able to support the Revenues and Benefit Services to accurately and efficiently extract data from multiple sources and create statistical information and performance reports, including statutory returns, setting reports up for routine distribution.

An understanding of database design and practice, good knowledge of one or more programming languages and of software tools for report writing, and of business process modelling and re-engineering methodologies are some of the essential requirements for this post.

You must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C or above, to include English and Maths, and A level ability in relation to database design, practice and concepts, as well as practical application in respect of one or more programming languages.
