Senior Building Control Surveyor

Contract- Permanent

Hours- 37 hours per week

Salary- NJC H3 £44,428- £48,474 per annum

The Building Control service is at the forefront of the drive to realise quality development as part of major initiatives and delivering major projects.  Blackpool is unique in its scope of activities and hence the opportunities for gaining wider than usual experience, are extensive.    

We are looking for experienced Building Control professionals, to provide advice and expertise in relation to more complex building control cases as well as supporting the Building Control Manager to manage and develop less experienced staff within the management structure.  

The successful candidate will cover all aspects of Building Control and focus over a wide range of Building Regulation projects, both domestic and non-domestic providing advice to internal and external customers and stakeholders. 

Duties will involve checking plans and inspecting building work for compliance with Building Regulations 2010 (as amended), the Building Safety Act 2022, other requirements of the Building Act 1984 (as amended) such as dealing with enforcement of the Building Regulations, enforcement of dangerous structures and demolitions. You will be expected to have some knowledge dealing with safety of sports grounds and marketing of the section. 

Excellent technical knowledge is important as you would take the lead on major projects and a commitment to continuing professional development is also essential.
