Senior Procurement Officer

Location: Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, Lancashire, PR25 1DH

Salary: £40,478 to £41,495 per annum

Hours/Working pattern: 36.25 hours per week permanent contract

Closing date: 9th of December 2022

Your role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Shared Procurement Team of Chorley Council and South Ribble Borough Council.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Procurement Officer to join our team who are committed to providing a positive and proactive service. The procurement team have a vital role to play in supporting the delivery of key projects for both councils.

You should be enthusiastic and confident with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement officer to develop and broaden their professional skills. You would be working across two local authorities.

Local government experience is preferred but not essential, but you should have a flexible approach and be able to deliver in a busy and challenging environment.

About you

You will hold a degree or formal management qualification.

You will hold a CIPS Diploma

You will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Shared Services

We share a number of our services with Chorley Council.

Shared services allows for improved resilience across both councils and provides numerous benefits to our operations and in turn our service to our residents. It also provides significant cost savings for both councils.

Some roles we advertise will be shared services roles, meaning the successful applicant, while will be employed by one council, will work across both South Ribble and Chorley authorities.
