  • This post is a designated Essential Car User. Therefore you must hold a full valid driving licence at all times and provide your own car for use at work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.

  • The post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be dealt with in a confidential manner and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here. We have a policy on the Employment of Ex-Offenders and it is available upon request.
Your role as Team Manager in Locality would be to support and supervise a team of 4 social workers and 2 Advanced practitioners, with a focus on reflective and relationship-based practice. The Locality model within Manchester focuses on the principle of Permanence from Day 1. Duty and Assessment Manages will support initial assessments of the right intervention at the right time for our families. The Locality teams will then support with children from Child in Need, those children subject to Child Protection plans, those who are subject to pre proceedings and those in the court arena.
  • You will be a person who has good people skills, is able to nurture and develop staff including newly qualified and more advanced practitioners, be able to work alongside a plethora of professionals in a multi-agency context and influence positive cultures within your team and the service overall. 
  • You will be a leader and someone who is brave and creative. 
  • You will work alongside the Service Lead and Assistant Director as an integral part of the leadership team in north.
  • You will have excellent communication skills, good IT skills, the ability to manager performance and quality and a sound knowledge of Legislation and statutory guidance in relation to children.
