This job is only open to applicants who are permanently resident in the City of Manchester. Applications will only be considered from people permanently resident within the boundaries of the City of Manchester.
Catering Assistants are required to support the Unit Manager in all aspects of the school catering service. You will be required to work on a mobile basis meaning that the work location could change from day to day.
As well as having experience of working within the catering industry, it is imperative that you have
exceptional people skills and high standards of customer service. It is paramount that the service provided is customer focused, therefore, you must be courteous, responsive and able to remain professional at all times.
You must also be able to work as part of a team and take instruction.
On a daily basis you will be required to support the Unit Manager with the preparation, cooking and service of between 120-400 school meals in accordance with service standards, service level agreements and legislative requirements.
Due to the nature of the role you must be able to work under pressure and able to easily adapt to working in new environments. You must be flexible in your work location as this could change on a daily basis, and at very short notice.
The working week is 3.25 hours on Monday to Thursday and 3 hours Friday. Working times range from 10.15 am start to 2.00 pm finish.
