We are seeking to recruit a Head of Department - Spanish to join our dedicated and talented team. Newhouse Academy is delighted by the recent Ofsted report, which graded us as ‘Good’ for Leadership & management, Personal development and Behaviour & attitudes. These are the first Good descriptors the academy has achieved in 16 years and we feel it really shows our improvement journey and the team we have become. This fantastic achievement followed GCSE results from summer 2023 that led to Newhouse Academy being placed ‘top of similar schools nationally’, by the Fischer Family Trust, based on improvements in Progress 8 from 2019.

We are a comprehensive secondary school and Part of the Hollingworth Learning Trust. The emphasis for the academy is ‘Our People’, where we have concentrated on simply just doing the right thing for our staff and students. Together we have developed an “Our People” curriculum based around James Kerr’s book Legacy. This has led to a real focus on our student’s personal development, alongside a curriculum that values every subject area.
