Did you know that Salford City Council has 5 Nurseries across the city, they are all great places to work and are all highly rated by OFSTED.  The nurseries are Barton Moss Nursery, Belvedere Nursery, Higher Broughton Nursery, Little Hulton Nursery and Winton Nursery.  Each setting opens between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and you will be expected to work a shift within these hours.  The nurseries are open all year round.

There is now an exciting opportunity to be a part of this fantastic team whilst being supported in gaining a recognised qualification through an Apprenticeship in Early Years Education and Paediatric First Aid.

This could be the perfect role for you if you;

-        Have a passion to work with children.

-        Would be proud to build a career in early year’s education

-        Recognise the reward in helping children achieve their potential.

-        Can be part of a positive environment that will shape a bright future.

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Have a warm smiling face that makes every child feel special.
  • Have the ability to laugh at jokes, even those that you may not find funny
  • Be willing to sing out of tune and in front of a crowd of eager people
  • Be prepared to convincingly pretend to eat playdough
  • Be content in the fact that our only cup of tea all morning might be a pretend one
  • You must be prepared to have lots of fun during the day.  Lots of laughter is a guaranteed outcome
  • You must be up for a challenge and able to work in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same
  • You need to be resilient, hardworking and a good team player who can build positive relationships with children and families from a wide range of backgrounds
  • You must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families.  There is no other job quite like this one!
  • Be committed and prepared to undertake learning to complete your Level 3 qualification.

If you feel you meet the above criteria, we would love to hear from you!

Our Early Years Educators work in nurseries across Salford and provide 0-5’s with the care, kindness and understanding that will play an important part in the development of the cities children.

As part of a team you will work with colleagues and managers to provide high quality care, whilst using your skills in communication, to ensure consistent support for the children that attend the nursery.

As part of the apprenticeship you will be required to hold a level 2 qualification in Maths and English, or be able to work towards this alongside the Early Years Education apprenticeship.

If this sounds like an opportunity that you would be passionate about getting involved with, then we welcome your application.

We offer a competitive salary, the opportunity to develop your skills, to work alongside highly experienced staff members and an environment where you will feel supported and respected.
