Are you friendly and caring with a warm and open heart? Then we’d love you to join us.

We’re looking for people to join our Supported Living team, a busy, buzzy bunch of people who support adults with learning disabilities living in various types of accommodation right across the borough.

As well as providing a safe environment to live in, we’re there to help people to manage their tenancy or the responsibilities of being a homeowner.

You’d be there to support with bill payments and managing accounts as well as helping with tasks such as shopping and cooking and in making and maintaining friendships.  Night-time support and personal care is there for those who need it, as is technology and equipment to make independent living easier.  We’ll introduce you to all of this and will provide full training.

As a support worker, you’ll be part of one of our lively teams supporting people with everyday life skills and activities within their own homes so that they can live as independently and happily as possible.

Our customers have varying levels of support needs and you’ll be delivering a consistently excellent high standard of friendly, professional care and support in line with the individual’s support plans.  You’re there to encourage customers to realise their goals and aspirations as outlined in their support plans and to assist them in developing strong links within the community, building their confidence and living their best life.

Don’t worry if you don’t have previous experience as we will make sure you are fully trained and receive all the help and support you need to deliver an excellent, caring service. What we are interested in is you and the personal qualities you can bring to the role.

What will a typical day involve?

Well, there is no typical day. Every customer is different and so every day is different. What you will find is that the days fly by, you’ll be surrounded by a positive team and you’ll find a real sense of fulfilment in being able to support your customers.  You may be based in someone’s home one day supporting with cooking and the next going out with a customer to get the shopping or visit the nearest park for some fresh air.

Yes, we provide a full induction and ensure you have full training to carry out your role.
