We are seeking to recruit an Inclusion Manager to our new school which opened its doors in September 2021, and which serves the local communities of Middleton and Heywood. The overall purpose of this role is to develop the Internal Exclusion Provision (Reset) offered by the Academy to reduce the need for fixed term exclusion and to manage the day to day running of the Reset area. You will be supporting the teaching and learning of students experiencing behavioural difficulties, or who are placed in Reset on a repeat basis.

At Edgar Wood Academy our Positive Discipline approach is one of mutual respect and compassionate rigour; our aim is that our students do the right thing by choice rather than because they must.

Edgar Wood Academy is part of the Altus Education Partnership and as such our staff benefit from a wide range of support and development within a collaborative community.

To work at Edgar Wood Academy, you must aspire to be an outstanding colleague, with a willingness to share and learn. We wish to appoint someone who will help us to make a positive difference to the lives of young people in the borough. You will need to have a flexible approach as you may be required from time to time to set aside subject interests toconsider the broader interests of the School and your own professional development.

In return we promise a supportive and enjoyable working environment and the resources needed to carry out the role to the highest standards, including a bespoke professional development programme to support you with your future career aspirations.

To apply, please complete the Altus Education Partnership Application Form on the Edgar Wood Academy website www.edgarwood.org and email to: recruitment@altusep.com.

Closing Date: Friday 3rd May 2024 at 12.00 noon

Interviews: Friday 10th May 2024

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
