Practice Manager (EHASH & Duty Assessment or Family Support & Protection services)

We are very excited to be transforming Rochdale’s Children’s Social Care Service.  With the full backing of council members and senior leaders, underpinned by principles established through the independent review of CSC and the national safeguarding review panel report, as well as feedback from staff and young people; our service is continuing to put Rochdale at the forefront of best practice.

As part of this strategy, we are pleased to offer a small number of full time permanent Practice Manager posts for ambitious, strategic thinking and inspirational managers who have the drive and enthusiasm to continue the great work that has already begun.

The posts are in either our EHASH & Duty Assessment or Family Support & Protection services and, as part of joining our valued group of experienced senior managers and associated teams, we will ensure you have:

In return you will have a proven track record in:

  • Ensuring that the social work team meet the statutory requirements in respect of children in need and child protection.
  • Managing performance and quality assurance, resources and budgets (in collaboration with other key stakeholders).
  • Ensuring adherence to and implementation of the Quality Assurance Framework, including ensuring that the relevant case audits are undertaken, staff and service user feedback is sought and acted upon.
  • Providing effective professional and practice supervision (including reflective supervision) and performance appraisal of staff.
  • Ensuring effective assessment, risk management and child protection and care planning.
  • Assisting teams to access resources across the council and with partner agencies to ensure delivery of services that promote positive outcomes for children.
  • Preparing for inspections.
  • Developing and sustaining productive relationships with peers, stakeholders and partners including schools
