What you’ll do as a Development Chef?
We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Development Chef. It is a varied and fast-paced role, where no two days will be the same.
The role will primarily focus on the development of a program for school children, parents, and carers outside of the classroom to teach them about nutrition, healthy alternatives to junk food, basic cookery skills, and healthy meals for themselves and their families. You will also be part of the team researching and creating new, innovative, and marketable food products for use across the Citywide school meals service, liaising with suppliers, conducting testing, and training Citywide staff.

The role requires the successful candidate to spend most of their time working across the varied sites, delivering training and workshops. Therefore, we need someone who is a skilled communicator, and able to work with staff, children, headteachers, parents, and community members in a variety of ways.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have experience in the catering industry (school catering would be beneficial), training individuals of varied levels of ability, supervise staff, have excellent communication skills, IT skills, be fair and objective, and have good knowledge of the School Food Standards and Food Safety Legislation.
Your Development:
Learning and development program with funded professional cookery qualifications, career planning, support, and progression opportunities.
