Your Role
 
Stockport is experiencing radical transformation, with over £1 billion dedicated to regeneration of the Town Centre and dynamic growth. Flagship redevelopments such as Stockport Exchange and Stockroom are contributing to the already thriving local economy where almost 14,000 businesses employ approximately 140,000 people. 
 
We’re seeking an energetic and innovative person with great skills and experience to join us in being part of delivering Stockport’s Economic Plan through local business engagement and project management.  Working in partnership across the Council, borough and Greater Manchester the post holder will be instrumental in achieving our ambition to improve local employment opportunities by supporting businesses to grow and attracting new businesses to the borough.
 
About You
 
The post holder will need to demonstrate relevant experience in working successfully with businesses and an understanding of business needs. They will be able to identify the range of support available to businesses and be comfortable with engaging business leaders, gaining their support to deliver our ambitious growth agenda for Stockport. The post holder will also be involved in delivering strategies and action plans, organising and delivering business networking events and project managing a range of additional initiatives that help to build and support a strong, thriving and sustainable economy. This is an exciting role for a motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated individual, interested in helping us to continue to develop Stockport’s local economy for the benefit of our residents and businesses.
