Salary: Grade E. SCP 11 £25,979 to SCP 16 £28,282 
 
Hours: 36 Hours per Week, will include evening and weekend working (on a rota basis)
 
Base Location: Acre House, 51A Manchester Road, Denton, M34 2AF

Be Well Tameside has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Health Improvement Worker as part of a wider Public Health team.
 
The Role
As a Health Improvement Worker, no two days are the same…some days you will be seeing people on a one-to-one basis, coaching them to make healthy changes, delivering health checks using point of care testing equipment (which can include finger prick blood testing) or stop smoking sessions. Other days you will be engaging with people on a stand at a busy event, facilitating workshops on a range of health-related topics or supporting the public health team in delivering health improvement projects.
 
About You
Here are some of the skills, knowledge and abilities that we are looking for in our newest Health Improvement Workers:
 
Experience in community working (either paid or voluntary), with the ability to travel to venues across the borough to fulfil service delivery (including transportation of equipment).
The confidence to facilitate workshops (in person and virtually), and the ability to work on a one to one basis.
You need to be reliable, approachable, have excellent presentation / communication skills and a flexible approach to working (occasional evening or weekend working may be required to meet the needs of the service). 
You must enjoy being part of a team; yet possess the personal management skills to work alone.
The ability to use computers to maintain records and enter data on our web-based client management systems.
You will need to be highly organised, motivated and resilient.
